巴德年，1938年10月出生，籍贯吉林四平。免疫学专家、医学教育家，医学院教授、博士生导师。1962年毕业于哈尔滨医科大学医学系，1967年北京医科大学研究生毕业，1982年获日本北海道大学医学博士学位。1994年当选中国工程院院士，1999年当选为美国国家科学院医学部（IOM，NAM）外籍院士。曾任中国医学科学院院长、中国协和医科大学校长。现任浙江大学医学院名誉院长，曾任中国医学科学院中国协和医科大学顾问，中华医学会副会长，《中华医学杂志》总编辑，中国免疫学会理事长名誉理事长，中国生物医学工程学会理事长名誉理事长，国务院学位委员会委员，全国政协委员。

长期致力于肿瘤免疫研究，80年代初，他在世界上首次发现抗胸腺自家抗体，从而为高血压大鼠的免疫功能低下找到了原因。在国际上首次提出免疫功能异常与高血压发生的关系；在国内率先开展了LAK细胞的研究，并将LAK疗法用于临床并在防止癌转移方面取得良好效果，这奠定了他成为我国癌生物疗法的学术带头人之一。
